About CORE

CORE was founded in 1999 at the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen as a Centre of Research and Exploitation with expertise and innovative activities in analysis, optimization and control of complex systems and processes.

Dr. scient. Preben Alstrøm, co-founder of CORE A/S and professor in complex systems at the Niels Bohr Institute, was appointed as CEO of CORE A/S.

Time line:

  • 2000: CORE is an innovation centre commercializing a wide spectrum of scientific research results
  • 2006: CORE focuses on machine applications, primary providing decision support and control solutions to the brewing industry
     
               and to waste water plants
  • 2010: CORE introduces their adaptive control technology to the rendering industry
  • 2016: CORE enters a partnership with Haarslev Industries A/S
  • 2022: CORE acquired by Haarslev Industries A/S

Today CORE has sold their leading technologies in process analysis, optimisation and control to Australia, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Peru, Poland, Russia, Spain, The Netherlands, United Kingdom and USA.

Preben Alstrøm, dr. scient. CEO and co-founder of CORE A/S. Member of the Academy of Technical Sciences. Past: Research professor in physics of complex systems, Niels Bohr Institute, Copenhagen University; Member of the Danish Natural Science Research Council; Member of the Danish Defense Research Committee; Chairman of the Danish Physical Society and the European Physical Society, Division of Statistical and Nonlinear Physics. Author of more than 100 international articles within the field of complex systems and processes
